The Oliver Scholars Program prepares extraordinary New York City students of African and Latino descent for success at leading independent high schools and prestigious colleges. We provide crucial support for our Scholars so that they can realize their full potential and ultimately give back to the city, the nation, and the world.
Oliver Scholars is proud to announce that Daniel Lobo has joined the team as a Scholars Services counselor. Daniel is a graduate of Harvard University, where he established a pioneering organization for students who are the first in their family to attend college. Daniel attended an independent secondary school and has worked for KIPP and other educational organizations.
Oliver Scholars is proud to announce that Melissa Providence has joined the team as our new Director of Placement. Melissa is an alumna of the Nightingale School and the University of Pennsylvania and most recently worked in the Nightingale Admissions Office as an Associate Director of Admissions.
The true value of the Oliver Scholars Program is best demonstrated through the words and deeds of our Scholars and alumni. In this space we will share their stories. For example, Chanel Duncan wrote Oliver Echoes for us last summer. If you are a Scholar and wish to tell us your story, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
